When everyday people stand together and take action – we CAN make a difference. Citizen engagement is the heart of our Democracy and it’s needed now more than ever in Florida. Republicans in Tallahassee are sponsoring bills that will suppress the vote, stifle free speech, place limits on scholarship opportunities for our students and discriminate against transgender youth.
With just 2 minutes of your time, you can help defeat these bills! Call your State Senator and State House Representative and simply say “I’m a constituent (provide your zip code) and I urge a NO vote on these bills.” The staffer you speak with will put a check mark in the “No” column and report the tally to the representative. If you get voicemail, leave a short message. There is no need for long explanations, but if you are passionate about an issue by all means say more!
To identify your representatives, use the maps below or the look-up tool for the Florida House of Representative (HERE) and Florida State Senate (HERE). Save their contact info in your phone and call them to ask for a no vote on the bills below by referencing the bill numbers.

Senate Bill 86 – limits the Bright Futures Scholarship to “pre-approved” fields of study
