The ability of women across this Nation to control their fate was assaulted today by the very Court dedicated to protecting the rights of every citizen. The U.S. Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe vs. Wade has made women in America 2nd class citizens.
The repercussions of the ruling will be life-threatening. These actions will reverse the protections Roe provided, putting women at risk of resorting to back-alley abortions, infections, and even death. Americans have repeatedly said they want the rights of women to be preserved. An activist court has reversed a nearly 50-year precedent taking legal rights away from women, and indicated they aren't done taking away rights from Americans, noting specifically their intent to overturn Obergefell, Lawerence and Griswold decisions.
On July 1, abortion laws in Florida will change, banning abortion after 15 weeks with no exception for rape or incest. Republican lawmakers have said they will seek further restrictions depending on the Supreme Court Ruling. Women will have their say at the ballot box in November, and we urged voters to seek out Democratic Candidates that support a women's right to choose.
